BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo launches new website

BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo, owned and operated by the Recreation and Park Commission for the Parish of East Baton Rouge (BREC), recently launched a new website: www.brzoo.org

Designed by Covalent Logic, the Zoo's new site offers an array of informational resources and educational material. The goals for the new site were to engage families, promote Zoo attendance and to communicate all that the Zoo has to offer: facility rentals, educational programs, conservation activities and awareness, and many, many event opportunities. These goals led to the fun, bright and informational layout in the design.

The site launch follows a recent announcement from the Zoo for record attendance in January 2012 - 13,269 visitors (up from 8,061 in 2011). "The mild weather we're experiencing offers a great opportunity for families to visit the Zoo and spend the day outside," said Zoo Director Phil Frost.

The Zoo's new website also offers an extensive listing of the animal collection that can be seen at the Zoo, a comprehensive calendar of events and an animal of the day game featured prominently on the home page.

"We know our new website will be a critical tool to help fulfill our mission of connecting people with animals," said Frost. "The Zoo is thrilled to launch our new site and promote the Zoo in new, exciting ways."
